GRITtv Spotlights Cooperatives in the Month of July

For the month of July, GRITtv will spotlight a few cooperatives that are growing an alternative economy. This week they are airing Mark Dworkin and Melissa Young of the documentary Shift Change which explores existing cooperatives in the U.S. 

“Cooperatives in the United States have existed more or less under the radar. Taking many forms: worker cooperatives, housing cooperatives, food cooperatives, are a reflection of what people can do when they band together. While not a cure all for our economically hard times, cooperatives may offer us a step in regaining some power, not only  in the workplace but also in the rest of our lives.
