As a vegetarian, I think in vitro meat might be a compromis between vegetarians and meat eaters. It will be hard to convince a large portion of current meat eaters to abandon meat, and forcing them with violence is certainly not the way to go (unfortunately some people disagree with me on this). In vitro meat gives meat eaters a possibility to help reducing our impact on our environment.

You are absolutely correct. It’s just the thought of eating something grown in a lab that’s kind of creepy.
