Rays of Hope

“From conceptual works like Rays of Hope to traditional models like the paper airplane or peace crane and even modern collaborations with origami masters, my work explores how thoughtful choices transform a blank sheet into something meaningful.” – Kevin Box

Kevin Box is recognized for his ability to capture the delicate nature of paper in dynamic, multi-media sculpture. Box successfully collaborates with some of the worlds most renowned origami artists, foundries, fabricators and engineers. Along with his unique style of storytelling, Box continues to push boundaries of sculptural techniques and processes.

His latest body of work “Rays of Hope” is about empowerment. It asserts that the world is transformable, and our next choice has the power to help shape it.

“For 25 years, my work has been guided by a simple, symbolic philosophy. First, the crease represents choice—the idea that intentional decisions lead to more beautiful outcomes. Every fold shapes the form, just as every choice shapes our lives. Second, chaos is symbolized by abstract wrinkles and the infinite potential of the blank page. It represents disorder, uncertainty, and the raw material of creation. Third, displacement occurs when conscious creases push back against chaos, transforming randomness into structure. Just as light displaces darkness, intentional action brings order, meaning, and beauty into existence. Every piece in this series begins with these principles—a dialogue between chaos and consciousness.”

You can find Kevin’s work at the Altamira Fine Art in Jackson Hole, WY.
