Andri Antoniades introduces Eden’s Paper – a gift wrap that grows organic vegetables.
There are plenty of sustainable options for wrapping your presents this holiday season, but none are quite as delicious as the type that grows organic vegetables. Designed by U.K.-based creative agency BEAF, the colorful wrap is made from 100 percent recycled paper and decorated with vegetable-based inks. Its seeds are embedded on the back in seven layers of biodegradable tissue paper that’s free from glue, making it safe to put in the soil. Eden’s Paper may have been the center of international attention of late, but the company isn’t the only one to sell gift wrap able to grow plant life. Bloomin’ Seed Paper in Colorado also sells wrapping that can grow flowers and herbs. The more the merrier. The Eden’s Paper website reports that the U.K. alone throws out enough decorative paper each year to encircle the world nine times. There are all sorts of ways to prevent that kind of needless waste, but the most mouth-watering may be the type that comes with a side of vegetables.
