Durga Puja is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates worship of the Hindu goddess Durga. The festival marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil demon Mahisasura. Along with a few other Indian states where it is widely celebrated, in Assam too it is a five day annual holiday.
